On Thursday, May 19 the students and teachers entertained Mrs. Brunkow with a surprise retirement celebration. It took a bit of coaxing to get her over to the hall, but she eventually came. When she realized that her family was there she knew something was going on. Each class performed a song, poem, or skit for Mrs. Brunkow. Many of the acts were in the form of Broadway musicals, her favorite type of music. The students presented her with a bench with each of their thumbprints and the saying “We are Family”. St. Mary School is going to miss such a dedicated and remarkable leader in Mrs. Brunkow. It definitely won’t be the same without you. We love you! Thank you for your years of service!
